Critical Link will showcase three System on Module families at Embedded World NA: the MitySOM-A5E with Altera Agilex 5 FPGA, the MitySOM-QC6490 featuring the Qualcomm DragonWing QCS6490 processor, and the MitySOM-AM62x/A/P based on the Texas Instruments Sitara AM62x/A/P processors. Together these SOMs represent a complete range of features and performance, complemented by the support, scalability, and long product lifecycles customers have come to expect from Critical Link.
The MitySOM-A5E family includes production-ready SOMs in several form factors and configurations. These SOMs offer up to 656KLE FPGA fabric, dual core ARM Cortex-A55 and Cortex-A76, 24 transceivers, dual banks of RAM, and a wide range of user-friendly interfaces. This is a CRA-ready SOM, with industry-leading security features including secure boot, tamper proofing, device/identity keys, and more. The SOMs also feature AI-optimized DSP tensor blocks with up to 26 TOPS performance. Critical Link will feature this SOM in a Holoscan Sensor Bridge demo, processing 5 camera feeds with ultra-low-latency for edge AI applications in robotics, medical and more.
Next is the MitySOM-QC6490 based on Qualcomm® Dragonwing™ QCS6490 processor. These system on modules deliver a combination of multi-core CPU, GPU, and VPU processors, a host of memory options, on board power supply, and a range of high-speed interfaces all in a 45mm x 45mm package. Developers gain access to the Qualcomm AI Hub, a toolkit offering examples for speech recognition, image classification, text generation, and many other common AI applications. Critical Link’s booth at EWNA will feature a series of demos running open source AI models on the MitySOM-QC6490.
Last is Critical Link’s MitySOM-AM62x/A/P family based on Texas Instruments Sitara AM62xx, AM62Ax, and AM62Px processors. Each SOM packs a powerful combination of quad core ARM Cortex A53s, Cortex M4F or R5F co-processors, hardware accelerators, a host of memory options, on board power supply, and a range of interfaces. Combined with Texas Instruments Edge AI Studio, which gives access to readily available AI models, developers now have a head start in hardware and AI application development.
The MitySOM-AM62A will be featured in a defect detection demonstration at the Critical Link booth. The demo uses artificial intelligence at the edge with our Texas Instruments AM62Ax-based SOM. The yolox-nano-lite-defect-detection model runs on the AM62A C7x-MMA accelerator, delivering 65x faster performance vs running on the ARM A53 quad cores.
